Resumen

La Linfopoyetina Estromal Tímica (TSLP) es una citoquina epitelial, vinculada en el inicio de la respuesta alérgica. Esta citoquina, tiene la capacidad de actuar sobre una gran variedad de poblaciones celulares y cuyos efectos son objeto de estudio en la actualidad. Además, en procesos patológicos que afectan tejido epitelial se han observado niveles elevados de TSLP, como es el caso de la piel de individuos con dermatitis atópica o tejido bronquial de sujetos asmáticos. De otra parte, en diversos estudios de asociación genética, se ha  asociados con el desarrollo de las enfermedades alérgicas. Esta revisión tiene como objetivo, describir a TSLP como una molécula mediadora durante el desarrollo de la respuesta alérgica por parte del sistema inmune; además,  describir su asociación clínica con diversas enfermedades alérgicas.
